Privacy notice

A straightforward explanation of how this website handles personal information. Last updated 4 November 2026.

In short

  • No visitor accounts, contact forms, mailing lists or database of visitors.
  • No advertising, marketing or social media trackers, and no embedded videos or players.
  • The website's own code does not set cookies or store anything in your browser.
  • Our hosting provider processes basic technical information so the site can work, and provides aggregate visitor statistics.

Who is responsible

This website is run by Paris Shears, who is responsible for the personal information described here. It is separate from the Paris's Law campaign website, which has its own privacy notice.

Hosting and technical logs

The website is built and hosted with Lovable, which serves it using cloud infrastructure, including Cloudflare's network. When you visit, your browser has to send some technical information for the page to be delivered. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the page you requested, the referring page, and the date and time.

Our hosting providers process this information to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix errors. This can include short technical reports when a page fails to load. These providers keep logs under their own retention policies, and may process information outside the UK under their own safeguards.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a secure, working website.

Visitor statistics

Lovable's hosting includes built-in visitor statistics. Paris can see only aggregate figures: the number of visits and page views, which pages were viewed, referring websites, device type and country. She cannot see who individual visitors are, and the statistics are not used for advertising or shared with advertisers.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: understanding, in general terms, how the website is used.

Cookies and browser storage

The website's own code does not set cookies or use browser storage such as local storage. When we checked the site, no cookies were stored. We do not use advertising, marketing or social media tracking, and fonts are served from this website rather than a third-party font service.

When you download the press kit PDF, it is created in your own browser. Nothing you do on the press kit page is sent to us.

If you email Paris

If you email one of the press addresses, Paris receives your email address and anything you include in your message. This is used only to reply to your enquiry. It is not added to a mailing list, used for marketing or shared without your agreement.

Emails are handled by the email provider for the address you write to. For the Gmail address, that is Google. Emails are kept only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in responding to your message.

Links to other websites

This website links to news outlets, podcasts, UK Parliament and the Paris's Law website, but does not embed their content. Links open in a new tab and do not tell the other site which page you came from. Once you leave this website, the other site's own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of personal information held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can also object to how it is used. To make a request, please email the address on the Press Enquiries page. For information held by our hosting providers, Paris will pass your request on where she can.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
